Whenever you hear the name Disney, you immediately connect it with trust, right? Well I wouldn't be so sure these days. Looking at Disney from a moral prospective, there are some very questionable practices going on. Disney most blatantly supports homosexuality. They sponsor "Annual Gay Day" at Disneyland and Disney World. This doesn't set a very good moral example for children. I have nothing against gay people, just that I don't believe what they believe is right. I personally don't know any gay people, but I've met a few. Anyway, back to the issue. They also aired the first sitcom with an openly gay main character. This was very questionable from a moral standpoint. Again I have nothing against gay people, I just don't think what they are doing is right. Disney isn't the only offender though. NBC's Will and Grace also has openly gay main characters. These sitcoms have only led to my watching these channels less and less. I don't feel like supporting something that I don't believe in. Disney has also been producing some weird children's movies lately. The most recent (that I can remember, Mulan). I haven't seen an animated Disney movie since Aladdin. Yes, these are very entertaining, but is the historical factor correct? I don't believe Pocahontas was very correct historically. I did a report about it in fifth grade and I don't remember learning some of the things from the movie. Their subsidiaries that produce adult movies also have produced some questionable movies. The House of Yes and Chasing Amy involve incest and lesbianism, respectively. I don't know about you, but incest is going a little too far. I don't know any people that would watch a movie with that theme. I never saw either, and don't plan to. I know there may be a difference between adult movies and children's movies, but it's all about the name behind the movies. Disney. Consider this the next time you go to see a movie. Find out who produced it. All I'm saying is that I am taking a closer look at Disney nowadays. Maybe you should too. Talk back: Visit My Forum! |
